Call For Abstracts – Biobanking’s Biggest Conference!

The biggest biobanking event in Africa is now open for business – and the GGBN / ISBER Joint Biobanking Conference 2025 is looking for you!

The conference, a joint effort by the Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN), International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER), is sponsored by the Medical Biorepositories of South Africa (MBirSA), and will be held at the spectacular Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town, South Africa, from 29 September – 3 October 2025.

With this year’s conference theme, “Where worlds align: biodiversity and human biobanks. Same, but different”, we’re bringing together experts in human and biodiversity biobanking to talk shop, share solutions and discuss future efforts.

Do you have anything you’d like to share about:

  • Human, animal, botanical and microbial biobanking
  • Data and database challenges
  • Accreditation and credentialing
  • Big data, innovation and AI in biobanking
  • Best practices, standards and sustainability?

any of those topics (and more) we’d love to hear from you!

Want to join the fun? Keen to contribute? Submit your abstracts now.
